Mi nombre es Eva Callueng y soy de Filipinas, Asia Pacifico
I am happy to be here to share the plight of Rainbow Catholics from the Philippines.
Being a lesbian in a predominantly catholic country has its ups and downs. For one, because I am active in our parish church, people tend to be more tolerant, if not accepting of LGBT people. I serve as a lector commentator that’s why I could say that we do know each other in our community. It was also a blessing that I am quite active in the LGBT community during my younger years which is why it was not that difficult to found the Rainbow Catholics Ph in 2017. I guess it’s really the sustainability of the operation of the organization which makes things hard these days as the members are all quite busy with our work. I pray that we could ignite whatever passion we have to strategize for what is beyond.
Speaking of beyond, it’s God’s grace that I have the opportunity to be part of the 10th anniversary of GNRC. The dedication and passion of the members are truly admirable. Imagine being a member of a global organization that affirms you when once upon a time you thought you were the only one in this struggle. In its decade of existence, I pray to God that more and more people will understand the love of God that knows no exemption, boundaries, nor limit. May GNRC inspire more people to spread the values of faith, hope and love.
Happy Anniversary, GNRC!
Muchos gracias!
