Jubilee Pilgrimage

The Global Network of Rainbow Catholics is honoured to be a partner in the Jubilee event Pellegrinaggio de La Tenda di Gionata e Altre Associazioni. Our mission: to connect LGBTQ+ Catholic groups worldwide, promote inclusion, and build dialogue, aligns with the spirit of the Jubilee.
Through our global presence, we help make sure pilgrims from diverse countries and contexts can join, be welcomed, and feel part of a shared spiritual experience. We see this pilgrimage as both a celebration and a step forward in the ongoing work of fostering understanding within the Church. And proudly we are official partners, and we stand next to the leading group La Tenda di Gionata, in carrying forward together the meaning and message and to share efforts and resources.

WE ARE PILGRIMS OF HOPE

We are all unique

We are community

We are Church

Pope Francis work continues

The theme chosen by Pope Francis for Jubilee 2025 is Pilgrims of Hope.

Pope Francis calls for us to be “artisans of brotherhood and peace” on a journey towards a new world of justice and love, not a meaningless wanderings. As Christians we are called to be “pilgrims of hope,” to actively commit to caring for others and advance towards a world where everyone can live in peace. In a world marked by division and uncertainty, this pilgrimage is a concrete sign that hope is possible when we walk together, recognising one another as children of God.

We work for a better society

We work for an LGBT+ pastoral care

We are Christians

The meaning of the Pilgrimage

A pilgrimage is a journey from afar, and sometimes from nearby, to a holy place. This journeying together can be personally transformative, leading to a greater presence of God in our lives when  the pilgrimage ends and we return to our daily lives.

It is about living the grace of the Jubilee as Christians, with our full selves — our faith, our relationships, our struggles, and our joy. It is a chance to show that LGBTQ+ Catholics and their families are already part of the Church’s life and wish to journey forward in faith.
Moments like this strengthen bonds within communities, open dialogue with Church leaders, and offer visibility to lives too often kept invisible. They affirm that the Church’s open door is for everyone.

A shared effort

This Jubilee Pilgrimage is promoted by La Tenda di Gionata and supported by a wide network of national and international associations and GNRC. This multi faceted collaboration shows the strength of working cooperatively across borders and traditions to create a shared moment of prayer, witness, and hope. For GNRC, being part of this unique collaboration allows us to amplify the voices, hopes and dreams of our member groups thus ensuring that their presence in Rome not only reflects the richness and diversity of our network but stands as a testament to their deep seated love of faith.
