It is very heartwarming to see Pope Francis take the time to acknowledge and recognise LGBT+ organisations, especially two of our members groups Quest in England and Acceptance Australia who recently celebrated their 50th anniversaries. Pope Francis sent messages of congratulations to both groups through the agency of Sr. Jeannine Gramick. But we also know that Pope Francis has been meeting and greeting groups through Vatican intermediaries on a regular basis. The most recent communication was with 3 Volte Genitori, a large religious network of parents of LGBT+ children in Italy.
We at the GNRC are thrilled to see this development, albeit informal, where the Pope is clearly interested to seek ways to engage with the voices of our communities around the world.
