I’m a member of the Colectivo TLGB of Bolivia, committed to activism and social justice for diverse sexual and gender identities in my country.

As a member of the Colectivo TLGB of Bolivia, I’ve witnessed firsthand how activism rooted in courage, resilience, and community solidarity shapes the fight for LGBTIQ+ rights in our country. Our participation in global platforms like the GNRC Assembly is essential—not only to share our struggles but also to bring visibility to the specific realities of LGBTIQ+ people in Bolivia.

The Colectivo TLGB is more than an organization; it is a family that represents diverse identities and fights against social exclusion, discrimination, and violence. In Bolivia, where traditional values often overshadow human rights, our activism demands recognition, dignity, and justice.

One of the strongest voices leading this movement is Rodolfo Vargas, president of the Colectivo TLGB. His leadership embodies the spirit of perseverance and hope. Rodolfo’s activism has opened doors for dialogue between the Church and the LGBTIQ+ community, breaking down barriers rooted in misunderstanding and prejudice.

Despite significant challenges—including stigmatization and limited legal protections—our community continues to resist. We advocate for inclusive policies, access to health care, and the right to live authentically without fear.

Participating in the GNRC Assembly allows us to bring the Bolivian LGBTIQ+ experience into the global conversation, reinforcing that our fight is interconnected with broader human rights struggles worldwide. Sharing our stories helps dismantle ignorance and builds bridges of empathy across cultures.

In my opinion, the power of our movement lies in its diversity and the courage to demand visibility. The Colectivo TLGB and leaders like Rodolfo Vargas remind us that pride is not just celebration but a call to action—to affirm that we exist, we resist, and we will continue striving for a just and inclusive Bolivia.
