A new GNRC Board was elected for the period 2020 – 2021

A new GNRC Board replaced the previous one and is composed of regional, sexual orientation or gender identity representatives to provide a wide perspective and diversity to our Network management. The new Board chosen from the 38 groups of LGBTIQ Catholics, their families and friends was elected during the GNRC Third Assembly on July 2019. Later on August, the Board through internal elections chose their officials management roles.

Co-chairs

Ruby Almeida(Quest, UK) is from India and was a Media Lecturer and worked at London Metropolitan University and West Thames College and is now a Freelance Trainer, and former Chair of UK Catholic LGBTI group Quest. Christopher Vella (Drachma LGBTI, Malta) is a lecturer in History at the University of Malta Junior College. He is the Coordinator of Drachma LGBTI and a Board member of the European Network of Parents of LGBTI+ Persons. He is also the Sexual Orientation Diversity representative at the GNRC Board. Regional Representatives

Dumisani Dube (Holy Trinity Catholic Church LGBTI Ministry, Southafrica) works for a LGBT-Organization as a consultant in Zimbabwe and in South Africai, which organises “Dialogue for change” between the LGBT commmunity and the religious leaders. Eva Callueng (Rainbow Catholics Philippines, Philippines) is the founding Chair of Rainbow Catholics Philippines. Currently, she chairs the Department of Professional Education at the University of the East. She is the Asia Pacific Region representative at the GNRC Board. Get more info of her Bio and work here.

Michael Brinkschröder (Ökumenische Arbeitsgruppe Homosexuelle und Kirche – HuK, Germany) is a Catholic theologian, sociologist (PhD), religious education teacher and former GNRC Co-chair. Antonio Ortiz (Red Arcoíris México, México) is an independant graphical designer and also the co-director in Red Arcoíris México as well as an Efetá member. He is the Latin America Region representative at the GNRC Board. Get more info of his Bio and work here.

Marianne Duddy-Burke (DignityUSA, Dignity) is a Catholic theologian, advisor to the Religion and Social Justice Advisory Group for the U.S. State Department and executive director of DignityUSA. Cristiana “Cris” Serra (Rede Nacional Grupos Católicos LGBT, Brazil) is a Brazilian Psychology as well as the National Coordinator of Rede Nacional de Grupos Católicos LGBT in Brazil. She is the Diversity representative at the GNRC Board.

The Gender Identity Diversity representative will be elected during the next Online Assembly to be held on April 2020.

The Legal Representation is assumed by Christopher Vella.

The new Board has written a communication letter to announce our GNRC Members and Allies about the new Board line up as well as to encourage us all for the continuity of the tasks discussed during the regional pre-conferences and working groups in Chicago.
