The Mission
The goal of the GNRC regional grants is to support local projects of our members all around the globe. GNRC Regional grants started as an experimental project in 2024 with a limited budget (300 euros by region) and thanks to that we were able to help different local projects at grassroots level on India, Ghana, Philippines and Uganda last year.
Due to this success we have tried to expand this budget for 2025 to 500 euros for the Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin American region, and keep the 300 euros for the European and North American region (2100 euros total budget). This budget is not intended for a single big project for a region, but instead to offer micro support to several grassroots projects locally. All members are welcome to ask for this regional grant by writing to treasurer@gnrcatholic.org detailing what local project they are trying to do. The grants are not limited to a time frame so members can ask for the regional grant at any time of the year. However, do bear in mind that as there is a limited budget, a regional budget could be allocated within months. So, it is best to apply as soon as you have something planned. If the project worthy and convincing enough , then there is always the possibility of a discerned extension to our grant making which would be subject to our budgetary constraints.
With the GNRC regional grant we are trying to create a more cohesive, connected and supported network for our member groups. Your membership fees enable us to support local projects held by a GNRC member, which helps build solidarity among all of us. Also donations made to GNRC are used to support LGBTIQ+ Catholics communities in all parts of the globe. In return, we would also like to give good visibility to any project that benefits from a regional grant. Bearing in mind the safety and well being of our members comes first, which sadly is very much needed in some countries around the world.
Programs
Guidelines
Membership
-You need to be a current member of GNRC with 2025 membership renewed
Clarity
-Explain your local project in as much detail as possible. Provide invoice and/or estimated budgets if possible
Purpose
Describe the event for which you are seeking a grant. Who will benefit from a GNRC grant? What benefits are gained from receiving the grant?
Residual funds
After the initial selection, any member group may still apply for the 2025 regional grants during the year, subject to the availability of additional funds.
Report
After completing the local project, a short report and discreet event pictures are expected to help promote the event and GNRC’s support, always prioritising the safety and security of the community and its members.
Deadlines
Proposals will be accepted until 31 May. All applications will then be evaluated together based on project quality, member engagement with GNRC, and previous regional grants received. This process allows prioritisation if requests exceed the available budget.
Please send your application to treasurer@gnrcatholic.org
