In 2019, at DigntyUSA’s 50th Anniversary celebrations where GNRC held its Assembly in Chicago, a member from the Democratic Republic of the Congo shared photos of people who had been harmed or killed because of their sexuality. Then those around Fr Bryan Massingale said something he couldn’t ignore: you are in the United States. You have a freedom here that we don’t. Say what we cannot say.

He did. He has continued to speak since then.

This week, NY1 featured Fr Bryan Massingale, a Black, gay, Catholic priest and theology professor at Fordham University, alongside Rachael Fried of Jewish Queer Youth.
